Community Solutions (CS) will serve as a pilot center for Online Dispute Resolution or ODR. ODR programs have been used in various forms for several years, especially in commercial online product and service disputes. Community Solutions will leverage this technology and apply it to our dispute resolution needs. The latest technology in online, web accessible information exchange - in both video and text - allows multiple parties in conflict to engage an 'on call' professional mediator assigned ODR daily duties. The approach potentially has far-reaching applications beyond traditional mediation, to include case development, conflict coaching, support to Restorative Justice (RJ) in schools, and even community group facilitation.
