Who: Community Solutions of Central Oregon is a nonprofit organization serving the dispute resolution needs of communities in the Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson tri-county region. We help people have difficult conversations by providing a wide-range of mediation, facilitation, and education programs recognized for their high-quality, low-cost, and positive impact.
What: Our Basic Mediation Training (BMT) course incorporates aspects of mediation models and standards practiced by Oregon-based community dispute resolution centers (CDRC), all of which have related programs in line with Oregon Revised Statute (ORS) 36. Part 2 is a practicum with course content provided via instruction at the Becky Johnson Community Center (BJCC), located at 412 SW 8th Street, Redmond OR, 97756. This part has been developed to include classroom instruction, group discussions, and role play settings. For more information visit BJCC online.

Why: Mediators are essential contributors to helping people communicate effectively during life’s more difficult moments. Serving as neutral third parties, mediators help individuals, businesses, and communities identify needs and craft solutions acceptable to all involved.
